Great selection of a Greek bistro in the San Diego downtown area. They got amazing plates and you get an opportunity to smash them as well.

Went there before going to Petco and had the octapodi skaras and the meze burger both were amazing! Jenny our bartender was also top notch with great suggestions for drinks and lively conversation.

We held a customer event in Meze's private area. Service and food were excellent and it is in a perfect location for any event being held at the convention center.

Meze is my go to spot before and after Padres games downtown. It’s the perfect place to grab a drink and some food without it feeling too hectic. I’ve been coming here for years and it’s always a great time! I’ve never had a bad meal here.

I usually get the babaganoush or the the gyro and both are always really good. I’ve heard great reviews for the octopus as well. The food comes out fast which is clutch if you’re trying to make it to a game and it still feels fresh and flavorful.

Jenny is usually behind the bar and she’s the best!! Super friendly baseball girly and just makes the whole experience better.

If you’re going to a Padres game or just in the area hit up Meze pre & post game! Oh, did u mention they have a belly dancer that swallows fire??

This venue is in a fantastic location near the San Diego Convention Center. Veronica was a pleasure to work with, helping us customize the perfect event for our budget. Our group was situated in a cozy corner near the patio doors, which provided a lovely ambiance and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful San Diego weather. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, and the staff remained enthusiastic and attentive throughout the entire evening.

Meze is easily the best restaurant in Downtown San Diego when it comes to the quality and authenticity of their food, absolutely wonderful staff, and an ambiance that is hard to beat.

As a Greek man, and I don't say this lightly, it's the kind of place that ruins all other Mediterranean food for you, and you'll be completely fine with that.

The Moussaka should be held criminally liable for being THAT good. The Spanakopita is LIGHTS OUT. And don't get me started about the Potatoes Limonato. You'll be questioning your abilities in the kitchen after trying these and I promise you'll never look at potatoes the same again. But really, their entire menu is a can't miss. They have something for everyone.

If you're going with a big group and want shared plates, they make it easy. My go is the spanikopita, dolmas, potatoes limonato, grilled octopus, and a souvlaki combo plate(but make sure to add on the lamb chops, they are excellent!).

Make sure you stop by the bar and visit the two best bartenders in town. Jen & Val are an absolute delight and will happily make sure you leave with minty fresh breath, compliments of Ouzo!!!

Meze is a MUST if you're in SD. Food, vibes, and staff, are the BEST. Shrimp ouzo saganaki, lamb burger, hummus, i mean its all so good. We love sitting at the bar with Jenny, always good energy and fun. Highly rec, go check meze out.

Meze is a don't miss if you are in the Gaslamp quarter! Food is great. Atmosphere has a nice SoCal vibe. The staff is amazing! Thanks for your hospitality, Jen!! Get to Meze quick and try the gyro plate with a blood orange IPA.

We've been coming to Meze for years now, and it's honestly one of those places that just feels like home at this point. Jenny behind the bar is a big reason for that. She remembers what we like, always has something new for us to try, and just makes you feel like you're hanging out at a friend's house instead of sitting at a restaurant. The whole bar has that energy when she's working.

The food never misses either. We always get the baba ghanoush, octopus, and gyro plate. I swear they're just as good every single time. It's a real neighborhood spot even in the middle of the Gaslamp, which is kind of rare.

If you haven't been yet, just go in and sit at the bar. You'll see what I mean.

We randomly ended up at Meze while walking around the Gaslamp, and honestly, it turned into the best night of our trip. We sat at the bar, and our bartender, Jenny, was just awesome. She was chatting with everyone, cracking jokes, and giving recommendations. At one point, the whole bar was in on the same conversation, laughing about something, and it felt like we'd all known each other for years. That kind of vibe is hard to find.

She told us to get the shrimp and ouzo saganaki and the lamb chops, so we did. Both were excellent. We ended up staying way longer than we planned and ordered one more espresso martini because neither of us wanted to leave yet.

We'll definitely be back next time we're in San Diego.

Love this spot! Alexa always makes us feel so welcome, and the food, drinks and atmosphere are awesome!

I recently tried Meze Greek Fusion and overall had a really nice experience. I ordered the grilled chicken plate, and I have to say — whatever rub or seasoning they use on that chicken is phenomenal. It was incredibly flavorful, juicy, and honestly the highlight of the entire meal.
The Greek salsa was also incredible. Fresh, bright, and full of flavor — it paired perfectly with everything and added that extra something that made the meal feel special.
The service was fantastic from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming, and the location itself has a really nice atmosphere that makes it a pleasant place to sit and enjoy your food.
The only downsides were a couple small things. The rice that came with the chicken wasn’t my favorite — it was a bit too puffy and lacked seasoning, especially compared to how flavorful the chicken was. Also, the soda I received was unfortunately flat, which was a little disappointing.
Overall though, the quality of the chicken, the amazing Greek salsa, great service, and nice location definitely make this a spot worth visiting. I’d absolutely come back — I’d just probably skip the rice next time.

We had such a fun birthday dining experience!! Jenn took very good care of us. All the food was so delicious – from the Sriracha hummus to the baklava cheesecake. The entertainment was really fun with the belly dancer! I have a gluten allergy and was able to eat almost everything at the table. Can’t wait to return!

Had such a blast hosting a work dinner for over 40 people here. The staff is incredible and great with creating a warm and fun environment. The food was also outstanding!

Great spot just 15 mins from the airport. We've visited many times and the food never disappoints. The baklava cheesecake is a must order! 😋

Delicious food. Their hummus is amazing. At around 10 pm a DJ showed up and it became a sort of night club bar scene.

The food was amazing and the staff was very friendly and attentive.

Good food. All the mezze were very good, except the Calamari which was a bit undercooked. Lamb chops was quite nice. Sriracha hummus was very flavorful. Baklava cheesecake was a hit with our group.

Service was also excellent.

We had a private dinner for our team Christmas party. The food was amazing and the family style service brought us together in a way buffet or individual meals can’t. Highly recommended.

Recommended by our hotel concierge. Located in the Gas Lamp Quarter near Petco Park. Great greek cuisine with super specialties. We share several small plates incl Flaming Ouzo Shrimp Saganaki, Gyro & Greek Salad. Great drink selection incl imported Mythos beer. Great vibe all around with multicolored accent lighting. Service superb!!

Came here for my solo birthday all the way from Colorado and i must say 10/10. The service was fantastic & food was amazing. Antonio was a pleasure as well as the rest of the staff. Will definitely return whenever come back to San Diego

Good fusion place

Great happy hour from 3p to 6p sun to fri. Sirrachi hummus was fantastic and was great snack to share with 2 people with a happy hour drink. Service was good as well.

Went here on a Monday night. It was a pretty quiet evening. The waiter got us seated and we were severed pretty quick. Our appetizers came out perfect and the Lamb was great.

Great food, freshly made and delivered quickly. Excellent service, several staff members checked in on us. The place has a lively, local vibe, complete with a snow machine creating flurries for ambience, they clearly put in effort to make it special.

Had dinner here and loved it. Did was delicious. Definitely going back.

Excellent food and service!

We were in San Diego for a week while I was attending a conference. We ate out a lot and discovered this restaurant on the last night. The food was amazing and it was by far the best place we ate at all week. The staff were attentive and kind. We highly recommend them.

Amazing food and wine

Stopped in while at a conference in San Diego. I had the Penne pasta and Greek Meatballs… Wife had the Chicken Souvlaki. Both dishes were excellent, great flavors, not overly spiced, perfectly cooked. I find that about one in ten Greek restaurants are able to make great hummus, most others are ‘OK’. This is one of the few spots where you get excellent hummus with bread that was great.

The staff was very welcoming. We walked in and they hopped on helping us right away, very accommodating, and the service was fast. Waiter, Joshua, took the time to cover some things we had missed on the menu and had great suggestions for wine pairing. Extensive wine list with very good selections.

It’s always a good sign when you notice that the staff are friendly with each other and interact in a way that shows they are enjoying their time on the clock with each other and the customers.

Lunch was good. The Pendry Hotel recommended Meze. It's close by. There was a "hot sauce" at the table that was good. It added a bit more flavor to the food. Greek white wines were a good choice with the salad and chicken.
